Through 13 years of public-school education, I lived with back pain that doctors referred to as growing pain. At the age of 19 years, I could not bend to tie my shoelaces without the help of pain medication. I was referred to a pain management doctor and received very little relief. At the age of 23 years, I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy by a neurologist, with no hope of future physical activity. He said that I would be bound to a wheelchair within the next 20 years. The neurologist then sent me to a highly-accredited medical center for more evaluation, where I gained no benefit or further knowledge of my diagnosis.

During the time that I was being seen by the neurologist and Duke Medical, my mother was being treated by her chiropractor, Dr. Charles Kenya. She mentioned my back pain and the negative experiences I had encountered, and Dr. Kenya asked if he could talk to me. He asked if I would be willing to get x-rays and give him an opportunity to study them. He began to explain to me what appeared to be part of my problem and how that he felt sure he could help relieve some of my pain, if given the opportunity. I began receiving treatments from Dr. Kenya, and in a month's time I had improved greatly.

In the past I had been to other chiropractors that had treated my symptoms, but Dr. Kenya treated the problem. He knew exactly how to address my problem, thus helping me to continually improve. Without his treatments my symptoms would have continued to worsen until I eventually would end up in a wheelchair. I am very grateful to the Lord that He has used Dr. Kenya's hands and expertise to ensure that I am walking and functioning near 100% again. Although I may still have some difficulties to face, it is comforting to know that they are manageable through treatments and adjustments by Dr. Charles Kenya. My career in engineering looks much brighter now, thanks to him. I highly recommend his services to everyone.
